Dark Despair of this night of life

You spin like spiraling smoke of

A newly lit fire of irreconcilable desires,

Wherein pricks of unfulfilled desires

Shriek loud like flying sparks,

The dark Yamuna of youth’s woods

Flows caressing its surroundings

Where paper boats of an infant-mind

Rush everywhere nonstop,

Oh, enchanters’ unblinking eye-kohl

Charming conceit smiles in you,

Between those hazy lines of the sketches

Lie new creations of live, moving forms,

Over the dark path of this lasting sojourn

Hovers the melancholy call of the heart’s cuckoo,

Becoming the blue echo in the infinite sky.
